Garda Trentino
Garda Trentino is a unique destination, loved and praised by travellers throughout the centuries. This is thanks to its combination of gentle landscapes and rugged scenery, medieval villages, castles and roman churches and the mild climate compared to that of the nearby Dolomites.
Goethe, Thomas Mann, Nietzsche and Rilke: just some of the great names who have admired the area and who have sung its praises, an area also visited by the royal members of the Hapsburg family and which, for centuries, has seduced visitors with its stunning scenery and central European charm.
Within just a few kilometres, the dazzling blue of Lake Garda blends with the intense greenery and scent of the Mediterranean vegetation and just a little further afield, the Brenta Dolomites. A thousand ingredients in an area where you can taste delicious local wine and foods and take part in artistic events with an international flavour.
Thanks to the year-round mild climate, Garda Trentino is the ideal spot for lovers of outdoor activities – a kind of huge, open-air sports centre where you can enjoy mountain biking, climbing, trekking, canyoning, sailing andwindsurfing.
Riva del Garda not only offers a large, modern Congress Centre and all the related services, butit is also a romantic, yet lively, little town. It is surrounded by medieval walls and a backdrop of aristocratic buildings and visitors will be treated to unforgettable treasures, such as the XIIth century “Rocca,” the ancient “Torre Apponale,”the fortress dating back to the fifteen hundreds from which to gasp at the magnificent view across the whole of the upper part of the lake, as well as the “Inviolata” church with its baroque interior and late renaissance façade.
